Space Probe of Japan launches new Robot on Ryugu Asteroid.........


  The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency JAXA revealed that Hayabusa2 probe has launched French-German Mobile Asteroid Surface Scout MASCOT towards Ryugu Asteroid Surface.

   The robot has been launched but it is not clear that how long will it take to make a safe landing on the Asteroid Surface. It was launched to collect wide range of data on the area of Asteroid.

 So,what's the robot made of?


   This MASCOT is 10kg box shaped which is loaded with sensors. It has the ability to take images at different wavelengths, it can estimate the surface temperature and can also calculate magnetic field on surface.


   Before 10 days of launch of MASCOT, Hayabusa2 dropped a pair of MINERVA-2 on that Asteroid. But unlike those machines, MASCOT will be highly immobile that is it can turn sideways also and can jump once to the mission...

   The Hayabusa2 is planning to drop impactor later this month which will explode just above that Asteroid, shooting 2 kg of Copper into it to blast small crater in the surface..
